Spaces that can be any place.

Spaces that can be any place.

When you need a photo studio that’s not a photo studio,
Breather can be a great substitution. At least, that’s what we realized recently when we’re checking out photos from a few ace businesses we know and love. Here’s how six diverse ecommerce sites turn our spaces into any place.

MINIMALISM, MINT + MASCULINE BEAUTY PRODUCTS.

Frank + Oak made shopping easier for dudes when they launched their online store in 2012. Four years and thousands of well-dressed men later, they’re still keeping things fresh and changing things up. Their Instagram game is strong and from time-to-time one of our spaces will pop up as stand-in for some stylish guy’s workspace or apartment.

NEVER LEAVING HOME: THE STAY HOME CLUB VENTURES INTO A BREATHER.

Stay Home Club is a lifestyle brand for people who have no life. Olivia Mew, the consummate stay-at-homer, started the company in her basement in 2012. The operation now has a huge space in Montreal’s St-Henri neighbourhood, where Mew works with four others, designing, creating and shipping to devoted club members around the world. As a company of self-professed recluses, we were beyond excited when we noticed they were shooting in our locations.

WHICH OF THESE IS BABA SOUK & WHICH IS BREATHER?

The concept behind Baba Souk, an online store and workshop company, is pretty dreamy. They bring the best and brightest from the Moroccan souk (literally) to their shop and eventually your home. How to supplement these biannual buying trips? Many of their website images are shot in Breather spaces, which act as a stand-in for various locations.

TAKAHASHI’S ISAO CHAIR IS AS COMFORTABLE AS IT LOOKS.

You can find beautiful, stylish pieces by furniture designer Mitz Takahashi in a number of our spaces. We’re big fans of his work, especially the Isao chair, which is not only very comfortable, but has a simple, classic aesthetic that we cannot get enough of. Where better to shoot your furniture than in the space where it lives?

MASTERING IN ACTION.

Landr * is a Montreal startup looking to make *music production (specifically mastering) a little easier. Essentially, once you have produced a track, Landr compares it to the other tracks in its database. It then intelligently masters the track based on years of data. Although they’re a digital brand, they often capture musicians pretending to make music in our locations.

BOUQUET IN A BREATHER.

Need a custom-made bouquet or a bunch of succulents to adorn your kitchen sill? Plantzy is here to make your house plant dreams come true. In addition to creating lovely terrariums and bouquets, they also offering subscriptions (plants to your door!) and workshops (bonsais for everyone!). Since plants are part of our DNA, it’s only normal that we sometimes see our workspaces popping up on their site.
